We live in an amazing world full of extraordinary people and at iinspire we like to take a little time out on occasion to appreciate that...

There are many parts of the world where basic opportunities are scarce and just surviving is a challenge. Thankfully there are people who don’t take the struggles of those less fortunate for granted. Inspirational people who make positive contributions to their global community and who through their actions hope to make the world a better place. We would like to use this site to recognize a small handful of these.

By clicking on the links below you can learn more about them and their contributions. Hopefully you will find them as inspirational as we did. You may even feel inspired to get involved, if so please pop us your email address and the project you are interested in and we’d be happy to make the introductions. Or, if you know someone with a similarly worthy story, why not let us know. We’d love to get the word out about them if we can.

Please also remember that if you choose to purchase an iinspire product, in a small way, you will be making your own positive contribution to the world. 10% of profits  goes towards supporting one of the projects described. It is amazing how far a relatively small contribution can go. It might be a blanket to keep a child warm in winter, food for a day or assistance with schooling, health or shelter. You will be helping to nurture a brighter future, so from everyone here, thank you, and please…BE INSPIRED!!!!

Mark McIntyre and Mary-Louise Parkinson

Mark and Mary Louise have long had a love of Nepal, both for its physical beauty and the beauty and spirituality of its people.

Earlier in the year they decided to spend a short period living in the country. During this time they happened to walk past a house close to their neighborhood full of children living in very poor conditions.

Mark and Mary-Louise discovered the house to be an informal orphanage housing 164 children. Mark and Mary Louise saw an opportunity to help.

They have since launched a charity organization aimed at supporting the orphanage and undertaking a number of other projects to assist in improving the living conditions in Nepal in a sustainable way.

Through their good graces iinspire customers are supporting Mark and Mary Louise in their endeavour.

Vividshop

VIVIDSHOP

Vivid Shop, on Crown St in Surry Hills sources much of its stock from Indonesia.

Co-owner Sam has spent a lot of time in the country and has developed an strong attachment to the people she has met. Over a number of trips she got to know a local family and their two young daughters.

Seeing the limited access the girls had to good education Sam and Denise decided to help.

Sam and Denise decided to send these two girls to a well respected Indonesian school with an excellent reputation for education.

This will give the girls access to opportunities Australian children can take for granted. The girls are learning english and many professional skills they will need to economically support themselves and their family in the future.
